I read her essay, and truly resonated with a lot of it. It was really refreshing to read yours as well! I was first gen in my family to go to school. I was struggling very badly during my middle years. Thankfully, I changed my major and fell in love. School became somewhere I loved again. I am proud of your daughter, as well. College is shoveled into our minds as the only way to make a decent living, especially in America. I'm learning now, almost four years graduated, that that is certainly not the case. I truly hope she is happy, and that you are happy - I know that my journey is also part of my mom's journey, it seems you feel that as well. Much love.
